Tilde
August 6, 2025

~8-9 weeks old, born around end of May
▸ Table of Contents
🍖 Food + Formula
🥓 Dry Food (3-4x per day)
- ▸ Daily food: 1/3 cup = ~5 tbsp = ~75-80 grams (spread across 3-4 meals), 9 Lives blue bag
- ▸ Per portion: 1.25 tbsp per meal
- ⚠️ Any food left out will attract ants immediately. Food bag should be clipped
🍼 Kitten Formula (Late morning, 10am-12pm)
- ▸ Formula: Use little cup inside ~1/4-1/3 full
- ▸ Water: Warm water/room temp bottled spring water
- ▸ Mix: Mix formula and water until clumps are gone
- ⚠️ Any formula left out may attract ants
🍟 Snack Mix (In-between meals)
- ▸ Amount: 5-8 pieces per day
- ▸ Source: In the kimchi container
- ⚠️ Any food left out will attract ants immediately
💧 Water
- ▸ Amount: 1/2 - 2/3 cup of plain water per day (not formula)
- ▸ Source: Bottled spring water preferred
- ▸ Check: Ensure fresh water is always available
🐈 Daily Activity
- ▸ FRAPS/Zoomies: Frenetic Random Activity Periods (FRAPs) or zoomies. She may bolt around the room and make some noise—this is normal. It comes in bursts and each session shouldn't last more than 15-20 min
- ▸ Climbing: She's getting better at climbing; she likes to climb onto the desk, which is ok, but sometimes she'll go behind the monitor and play with the wires
- ▸ Toys: She likes to play with toys, bottle caps, coins, laces, string, pens and paper—just random assortments of things. She's pretty good at entertaining herself, but some play with a human is always nice
- ▸ Wires: She likes to paw at them; I have never seen her chew wires
- ▸ Snoozing: Kittens sleep and nap over 18 hours per day
- ▸ ⚠️ Do not let her outside—she will get infested with fleas
💩 Litter Box
- ▸ Pee: Clumping litter makes it easier to scoop the pee
- ▸ Poop: She craps 1-2x a day; she will typically bury her turds, but sometimes not
- ▸ Litter Cleaning: Scoop out chunks 1x every 2 days, pour in fresh layer of litter
- ▸ Litter Tracking: She will sometimes track litter, or randomly play in the litter box (esp when pouring in fresh litter)—it can be a mess sometimes, not a big deal, but still annoying
- ▸ Vacuum: There's a vacuum for big litter spills
🪮 Grooming
- ▸ Itching: The cone collar will help heal wounds and prevent her itching her ears and face off—not recommend to take off unless supervised
- ▸ Taking off the cone collar: It's recommended to take it off briefly a few times per day to let her to groom herself, but only if her grooming is under your supervision
- ▸ ⚠️ If the cone is removed without your supervision, she will itch her face and ears until they bleed and scab up
🛏️ Sleep
- ▸ Location: Let her sleep in the cage at night
- ▸ Food: 1.5 tbsp of dry food will make it easier for her to sleep
- ▸ Toys: Liks to cuddle up with the toys inside
🐱 If she meows...
She's either:
- ▸ Hungry: 1 spoon of dry food is good
- ▸ Thirsty: Wants water or formula
- ▸ Check: Both food and water bowls when she meows
It's very predictable.
